Louisa Calder (1905–1996) was the wife of the American sculptor Alexander Calder. She moved within the international artistic circles surrounding her husband and was part of the social and cultural milieu of modern artists working in Europe and the United States. During Ellsworth Kelly’s years in Paris, Kelly met Alexander and Louisa Calder in 1950 through an introduction by the archaeologist Henri Seyrig.
