American Center for Students and Artists (American Center)

American Center for Students and Artists—commonly known as the American Center—was a key cultural institution supporting American artists and students in Paris. It operated from its Montparnasse location, serving as a hub for cultural exchange.

The Center provided studios, exhibition spaces, and a programme of events including lectures, performances, and exhibitions. In the postwar period, it became an important venue for emerging American artists living in Paris, offering opportunities to exhibit work outside the commercial gallery system.
