Barbara Chase-Riboud Studio (2nd)
Rue de Vaugirard, one of the principal arteries of the Left Bank, extending from the Luxembourg Gardens into the 15th arrondissement, served as a residence of Barbara Chase-Riboud following her initial settlement in Paris in 1961. By the early to mid-1960s, she had relocated there from Rue Blomet.
The address placed her in close proximity to a dense network of artists’ studios and historical sites of artistic production. Living only a few blocks from the Impasse Ronsin, she was effectively a neighbor of Jean Tinguely, whose acquaintance she made soon after moving into her new studio.
