Café de la Paix
Café de la Paix, a historic landmark located opposite the Palais Garnier at Place de l’Opéra. It was designed in the Napoleon III style by architect Alfred Armand as part of Haussmann’s renovation of Paris. Known for its florid interior decoration and prominent location, it functioned as a visible meeting place within the Right Bank cultural landscape, attracting writers, artists, collectors, and international visitors during the postwar years.
