Oscar Chelimsky
Oscar Chelimsky (1921–2010) was an American painter associated with postwar abstraction. He studied at Black Mountain College, where he was influenced by artists such as Willem de Kooning and Franz Kline. Chelimsky later moved to Paris in the early 1950s, becoming part of the American expatriate art community. Within this milieu, he was connected with Joan Mitchell and other artists working in Paris.
