Musée National d’Art Moderne

Housed in the Palais de Tokyo, the Musée National d’Art Moderne presented contemporary European and international art. In 1949, Kelly frequently visited the museum. After sketching the large windows of the museum, Kelly developed Window, Museum of Modern Art, Paris (1949), a two-panel construction in which he translated the architectural structure of the window into an abstract object.
